HiFiMan headphones are well engineered and have become quite popular in the market.  Whether you have the planar or dynamic driver models, these headphones sound and look fantastic.  Moreover, they are fully balanced units, capable of outstanding performance when run with a balanced headphone amplifier and balanced cable.  The stock cable can also be upgraded for better, fuller sound.  While we are not affiliated with HiFiMan, we do offer silver-Teflon upgraded standard and balanced cables for certain HiFiMan models.  Our cables are made of stranded copper wire, with silver plating on each strand.  They also feature Teflon insulation. 

Wire Selection.

You may choose Standard or Heavy silver-plated-copper wire with Teflon insulation.  The 20 AWG (Heavy) wire, is a massive wire compared to most headphone wires.  This wire provides superior conductivity but is more rigid (less flexible) than most headphone wires.  The wire can be bent easily but tends to hold its shape when bent.  It is suitable for home listening but not for travel or active lifestyle purposes (such as working out).  For a more flexible everyday wire, we offer the Standard option, which is 24 AWG (Standard) silver-plated-copper wire with Teflon insulation.  This wire is still thicker in gauge than most hair-thin headphone wires, and uses optimal Teflon insulation for reduced capacitance.  However the Standard wire is very flexible, lighter and with a looser weave.   It will not hold its shape and is suitable for working out or other active uses.  It sacrifices a small amount of performance for physical utility.  In fact, we recommend the Standard wire for Pono Player balanced mode headphone cables as its sound quality, in our view, is very close to the Heavy wire.

Termination Options- READ CAREFULLY

Our HF-COAX series cables fit the HiFiMan models with dual screw-in coaxial connections, including the HE4, HE5, HE6, HE300, HE400, HE400i, HE500, HE560 and HE600.  NOTE- NEW VERSIONS OF THESE MODELS DO NOT USE THE COAXIAL SCREW IN CONNECTIONS- CHECK YOURS FOR COMPATIBILITY!! 

Our silver-plated Teflon wire is far thicker and more conductive than the wire that comes with the headphones.  Move up to a silver-Teflon headphone cable for the best listening experience.

Want to connect your HiFiMan headphones to a Pono Player?  Most HiFiMan headphones are difficult to drive so this is better done in the Pono Player balanced mode.  Our HF-COAX-P series of cables allows you to connect your older style coaxial HiFiMan headphones to the Pono Player in balanced mode.  These fit the same models of headphone as the series, and use the same  coaxial connector on the headphone end.

These are available with our plush, fabric like sleeving which has reduced microphonics.

The HE-400S AND NEWER HIFIMAN HEADPHONES

Our HF-TRS cables fit the newest HiFiMan HE-400s.  These use a 2.5mm TRS Connector that mates with the newer HiFiMan headphones that no longer use the screw-in coaxial connector.  So check your  HE4, HE5, HE6, HE300, HE400, HE400i, HE500, HE560 and HE600 for the same connector.  The same wire and termination options available for the HS series are available for your HE-400s.

The HF-TRS-P cable will connect the HiFiMan HE-400s to your Pono Player in  balanced mode; Heavy wire shown below.

The HF-TRS-B is balanced with an XLR connector (Heavy wire option shown below)

Astell & Kern and Onkyo DP-X1

Our AK cables fit the newer 2.5mm TRRS balanced outputs available on Astell & Kern players, as well as the Onkyo DP-X1, Cayin N5, and other players.
